Our Story: How Iowa Food Tour Was Born
The idea for Iowa Food Tour was sparked by a deep love for travel—and a passion for experiencing each destination through its history, culture, and especially its food. It all began with a food tour in Scottsdale, Arizona. That one flavorful adventure opened our eyes (and taste buds) to the incredible way food connects people to a place. From that moment on, food tours became a regular part of our travels. Eventually, a question took root: What if we brought this experience home? Inspired by the food tour experience in Scottsdale and fueled by a love for our hometown, we began imagining a food tour set right here in Pella, Iowa —a place rich in Dutch heritage, hometown pride, and local flavor. After plenty of research, conversations, and planning, Iowa Food Tour came to life. Today, we invite you to join us on a delicious walk through Pella. Along the way, you’ll sample Dutch-inspired specialties and local favorites, all while hearing the stories that make this town truly one-of-a-kind. Every stop features restaurants that are locally owned and deeply rooted in Central Iowa, with a commitment to community and quality. We hope you leave with a full heart, a content stomach, and a deeper appreciation for the culture that flavors Pella.
